Instructions
Pot
Use your 4.5 mm crochet hook and brown yarn:
- R1: MR, 6 sc (6). Tighten ring.
- R2: inc x 6 (12)
- R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
- R4: sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, sc (24)
- R5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
- R6: 30 sc in BLO (30)
- R7-R13: 30 sc (working in both loops as normal) (7 rounds)
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Lid
Use your 4.5 mm crochet hook and light brown yarn:
- R1: MR, 6 sc (6)
- R2: inc x 6 (12)
- R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
- R4: sc, inc, (2 sc, ,inc) x 5, sc (24)
- R5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
Change to brown yarn:
- R6: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc (36)
- R7: 36 sc in BLO
- R8-R9: 36 sc (2 rounds)
- Fasten off and weave in ends. Set aside to add cactus later.
Cactus
Use your 4.5 mm crochet hook and green yarn:
- R1: MR, 6 sc (6)
- R2: inc x 6 (12)
- R3: 12 sc (12)
- R4: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
- R5-R7: 18 sc (3 rounds)
- R8: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
- R9: 24 sc
- R10: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
- R11: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)
- R12-R13: 12 sc (2 rounds)
- Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Bud
Use your 4.5 mm crochet hook and green yarn:
- R1: MR, sc 5
- R2: inc x 5 (10)
- R3: 10 sc
- R4: (sc, dec) x 3, sc (7)
- R5: (sc, dec) x 2, sc (5)
- Fasten off. Leave tail for sewing
Flower
Change to your 3.5 mm crochet hook and pink yarn:
- R1: MR, sc 5, tighten ring, slst
- R2: ch 1. In the same stitch as the chain dc 2. Ch 1 and slst into the next stitch. Repeat 4 more times to form petals.
- Fasten off. Leave tail for sewing.
Sewing Together
- Flatten the cactus and bud.
- Using the bud’s tail, sew the bud onto the top right of the cactus between R5-R7.
- Using the flower’s tail, sew the flower on the top left side of the cactus between R5-R7.
- Using the long tail of the cactus, sew in the center of the lid.

Adding Cactus Spines
- Insert white yarn into a yarn needle.
- Insert the needle in through one stitch and insert out through a stitch right next to it, making each spine only one stitch long.
- Create spines on both sides of the cactus and bud, pointing in different directions and spread out randomly. As many as you would like.
